An international competition has been [was] launched for the architecture, design and visual identity of a planned new €3 billion metro line in Turin [Deadline closed 7 October 2025]

The two-stage contest – organised by Infratrasporti.To Srl on behalf of the Italian government’s Commissario Straordinario – will select a concept vision for the new Line 2 underground route which will serve the city centre and run from Rebaudengo in the north to Mirafiori in the south. The competition focuses on developing a cohesive and recognisable architectural and design language for Line 2, establishing its visual identity, and defining passenger experience, atmosphere and detailing across stations, entrances and public spaces.

The winning proposal will form the basis for a direct commission to deliver the artistic direction throughout the executive design and construction phases of the €3 billion project.
