  1. One curious extra point about the 10.00 from King’s Cross.
    Apart from the 4 “Generations” of motive power shown, all the others since 1870 still exist:
    1870 – GNR old number 1
    1898 – GNR 990 “Henry Oakley”
    1905 – GNR 251 ( Ivatt Large Atlantic )
    1923 – LNER 4472/103/60103 Gresley A1/A3 Pacific
    1948/2006 – LNER 60163 “Tornado”
    1961 – “EE” class “Deltics”
    Then the remaining motive power shown in the picture.

    I think this is also a remarkable record & probably unique.

  2. ERROR – did anyone spot it?
    Between 1923 & 1948 …
    1935 – LNER “A4” class Pacifics, of which six still survive.
