The Hyde Park car parks item is very interesting I hadnt read this. TBH I should have written it! BTW it gives the impression there’s just the one underground car park below Hyde Park when there are actually three separate underground car parks in total. The main one (pictured in the article) is the Hyde Park one, there’s also a substantial one by Marble Arch and a smaller one known as the Mayfair car park opposite the Hilton hotel.
Nice to see a brief something on the history of LR itself! It was a great shame when London connexions stopped writing, and remember the relief and excitement when LR took on the mantle.
Ahh, for the white on black theme though!!
Talk about lack of observation… I hadn’t even noticed the rebranding to simply ‘reconnections’ until I read that article!
The picture with the ‘beer train’ item seems inappropriate in that it appears to show tank wagons used for LPG or CNG. As I understand it the beer train wagons involved in the accident were roll-on-roll-off HGV semi-trailers which were somehow dislodged from their correct position and blown to foul the path of the passenger train on the adjacent track.
