New French night train connection relaunched after 20 years (RailTech)

As announced in January 2022, SNCF Voyageurs officially launched the new Paris-Aurillac-Paris night train service last Sunday, departing from the Paris Austerlitz station. There will be a daily round-trip during the holiday periods and on Friday and Sunday evenings in each direction, outside of vacation periods. This aims to enhance rail services in the Lot and Cantal regions of France.

In line with the government’s initiative to revitalise night trains, a new INTERCITÉS night train service between Paris and Aurillac in Southern France was inaugurated on December 10. The French government allocated 152 million euros to support the development of night trains in the country.
