A lot of the comments on the Ashley Down video are about the open shelters with horrible seats. Just what extra would it cost to have enclosed shelters and human-shaped ones? I’ve spent enough time on normal-shaped metal seats in parky enclosed stations (eg Newcastle), there only because I had to be for a connection, to know that the grotesque ones at AD would never see me. Here’s a novel idea – design a station round good passenger facilities.
