  1. Argyll Street is a great example of pedestrianisation that really works well in Soho, with defined hours for access/deliveries. Likewise the Carnaby area has been roaringly successful. Adopting the Argyll Street approach for parts of Dean Street, Wardour Street, Poland Street, Old Compton Street and others would really support the hospitality industry where pubs are often bursting onto pavements and al fresco dining can give eateries an extra dimension.

    Clearly the debate about Oxford Street itself is going to run and run but these side streets that bustle with bars and restaurants are surely an easy win.
