Electric Bikes
Won’t replace trams or trains, but can easily replace cars in cities.
How do I make this confident prediction?
Because I have an electric bike { Which “the Boss” calls “Wiley E Bicycle” } For journeys up to 4-5 miles it’s possibly faster than the train, especially if the terminals are off the rail lines & – of course, on normal “surface” trains – you can take your bike with you, giving you enormous flexibility at both ends of your “transit” journey..
Time will tell.
TfL’s consultation on this has been extended a fortnight, until June 6, 2023.
