Thanks you for finding and posting this video – it shows a great deal of ingenuity in repairing this ancient monument. As a colleague said in a seminar earlier in the year, it’s unlikely that the designer of the bridge foresaw a) the invention of motorised road vehicles, b) the failure to maintain the bearings or c) that the temperature range to take account of might change noticeably.
