The Economist also has an article about transport in Vancouver in the current edition. The reason given for its growing public transport usage (unusual in North America) is the lack of ride-sharing operations (Uber, Lyft etc) which have been banned in British Columbia. However, this is in the process of changing and Uber is expected to return to Vancouver soon.
Stanmore offered space for a potential stabling point and depot for Jubilee line additional trains for World Class Capacity upgrade. The money ran out, but surely it is only a matter of time before 36tph has to be achieved on the line.
