With the ELL now running its preview service, attention turns towards other Overground activities in North London.
Dalston Kingsland is currently the focus of much activity, as the picture below shows. This photo was taken from the Kingsbury Road bridge, looking eastwards.
On the right can be seen the trackworks currently taking place to allow the ELL to run through to Highbury & Islington. To the left, the new Boleyn Road bridge can be seen. This needed to be modified as part of the ongoing platform extension works (the previous bridge prevented the platforms from easily being extended to support 4-car services).
At the station itself, the eastbound platform has now been extended to run beneath the bridge, and work appears to be underway on the westbound platform as well.
Many thanks to Dalston Paul for the photo.
